Shell has unveiled a new biofuel program for Brazil. Shell along with sugar producer Cosan SA Industrio and Comerico has together signed a joint venture for producing biofuel.
This is good news not only for Shell employees, but also for the biofuel industry. This venture is sure to make a global impact in the biofuel industry.
While Shell will be contributing close to two million dollars, its jetfuel activities and around 2,700 service stations along with its biofuel investments in companies such as Logen Energy and Codexis towards this joint venture, Cosan will be contributing in excess of 1,700 service stations and 23 sugar mills as well. This biofuel project is worth $12 billion.
