Bella Energy and NexGen Energy to Develop Rooftop Solar Project in Salt Lake County

Salt Lake County has selected Bella Energy and NexGen Energy for developing a rooftop solar installation on the Calvin L. Rampton Salt Palace Convention Center located in Salt Lake City.

The team has planned to set up solar modules in 2.6 MW capacity on the center. If constructed to that capacity, the center will have the capability of producing over 3,330,000 kWh of energy annually, while decreasing the consumption of the building by 25%.

Bella Energy, an integrator of solar electric systems, will be in charge of designing and installing the project. NexGen Energy, a distributed renewable energy systems operator and owner, will operate and own the plant and sell off the energy at a predictable price to Salt Lake County.

The energy produced by means of the solar panels will be sold by NextGen Energy for a period of 20 years. NexGen Energy has the RECs (renewable energy credits) associated with this project.
