Wind Farm Construction Commenced on Brown County

Construction has commenced on the industrial wind farm on Brown County. Eight wind turbines are presently being constructed in Glenmore Town in Brown County. CH Shirley Wind, LLC, the developer, opines that construction on the farm is likely to be finished by the close of 2010.

The wind turbines, standing 492 feet tall, are likely to produce sufficient energy for powering around 8,000 homes annually. The turbines are likely to provide additional income for four families who host the turbines on their properties.

The Shirley Wind project does not fall under the proposal to construct 100 wind turbines in numerous communities in Brown County. Called as the Ledge Wind Energy Project, this proposal has not yet been voted by the state Public Service Commission. Invenergy, a company based in Chicago, is presently developing the project.
