Stafford Township Solar Park Construction Could Start This Fall

Construction of solar stands numbering 1,026 in Stafford Business Park might start as early as this fall in Stafford Township. On completion, the solar farm is likely to generate 70% of the energy demands of the business park, as indicated by the Walters Group, which is the designated redeveloper of the township.

The solar project awaits the approval of the Department of Environmental Protection as it involves development in a region marked for conservation. This facility will have a capacity of 6.5 MW. The solar farm is likely to produce sufficient energy for powering 1,500 homes.

As part of this project, an affordable housing complex comprising 112 units named Stafford Park Apartments will be built. This green-certified, energy-efficient complex has received LEED Gold certification. Currently, the Walters Group is also awaiting approvals for constructing 216 apartments at market-rate at Stafford Park.
