INOX India Receives Electrical Control Systems from AMSC

American Superconductor Corporation (AMSC), an alternative energy company engaged in the manufacture of high end wind turbines and electrical control systems, will supply 17 wind turbine control systems to Inox Wind Ltd an allied company of Inox Group of Companies.

In May 2009, Inox India had signed a contract with AMSC Windtec a subsidiary of AMSC to manufacture 2 MW wind turbines in India and sell them worldwide. The 17 wind turbine control systems expected to be received will be deployed in the 2 MB doubly-fed induction type wind turbine currently under manufacture in India. The company has of late installed and put into use its first 2 MW wind turbine that has started power generation.

Devansh Jain, Inox Wind’s Director, while expressing his anxiety against the prevailing carbon discharge and toxic waste issues, also acknowledges the increasing demand for electric power and the need for utilizing wind energy that discharges zero emissions. He added that his company is looking forward to lead the clean energy wind power market in India and ultimately wanted to export wind turbines to other parts of the world.
