Gamesa to Supply Wind Turbines for Wind Farms in Brazil

Gamesa will be supplying wind turbines for nine wind parks that will be developed by Iberdrola Renovables in Brazil. The overall installed capacity of the turbines will be 258 MW. Gamesa will be supplying 129 wind turbines totally over a two-year period during 2011 and 2012.

In particular, Gamesa’s G8X wind turbine model featuring a unit capacity of 2 MW will be supplied for this purpose. Under this contract, Gamesa will be supplying, installing and transporting the wind turbines for performing start-up as well as maintenance work during the next two years.

Meanwhile, just a few days ago Iberdrola Renovables entered into a venture with a Brazilian energy company Neoenergia in winning the bid for constructing 258 MW of wind energy output in the second tender process of Brazil meant for developing renewable energies. The electricity industry authority in Brazil named as ANEEL (Agencia Nacional de Energia Eletrica) had called for this tender.
