A-Power Energy Joins Lincoln County in Nevada for Biomass Fuel Study

A-Power Energy Generation Systems Ltd. (A-Power) has joined with Lincoln County, Nevada for conducting a Joint Feasibility Study towards an electric generation plant that is fueled by biomass.

The Board of Lincoln County Commissioners (Nevada) and A-Power have signed an MoU towards sharing the costs in feasibility evaluation of operating and constructing a 10-MW biomass-fueled electric generation facility. The biomass would be derived from the landscape enhancement projects undertaken by BLM (Federal Bureau of Land Management) in the Lincoln County.

The Ely Resource Management Plan of BLM has identified more than 1 million acres of land area in Pinyon-Juniper woodland located in Lincoln County that require landscape treatment for restoring and enhancing the wildlife habitats, watersheds as well as reducing the threat posed by catastrophic wildfires. For long time now, Lincoln County has been seeking to identify such industrial users of biomass of Pinyon-Juniper.

A-Power is a major leader in providing distributed power generating systems across China and is currently expanding by producing alternative power generating systems. The commitment shown by the company as well as the county towards investing in the development of clean energy is very crucial for the local as well as the state economy.
