Azerbaijan Takes Initiatives for Selling the Zeyxur Hydro Electric Facility

Azerbaijan’s State Committee for Property Affairs has completed an investment competition towards the sale of the Zeyxur small scale hydro power plant located in the district of Gusar. The State Committee has informed that this particular competition has been won by Inter Energy LLC.

Over an 18-month period, the company is obliged towards investing an amount of AZN21.004 million for the restoration as well as the expansion activities of this hydro power station. The power generation capacity of this hydro-electric power plant is currently designed at 8.75 MW and will be increased to 12 MW. The plant will be providing 100 to 120 jobs approximately.

The plant generates as well as sells electricity by using the Samur River water. The overall cost of this small hydro electric plant in Azerbaijan is estimated to be AZN93,863. This hydro power plant, originally constructed in the year 1972, has its location in the village of Upper Zeyxur in Gusar district.
