Recently, the Paterson Vineyard has witnessed the installation of vertical wind turbines of Windspire Energy. In about four year’s time, the newly installed vertical wind turbines at the Destiny Ridge Vineyard situated in the area of Horse Seven Hills, should start churning out profits. These wind turbines are 30-foot tall and remain virtually silent since they produce as little as 6 dB sound above the ambient level at a wind speed of 15 mph.
Windpsire Energy has received lots of inquiries from wineries and vineyards about the turbines since these vertical wind turbines are unobtrusive and sets them apart from competitors while saving land space as well. As per the company, each of the 1.2-kW wind turbines is slated for producing around 2,000 kWh of electrical energy annually.
Windspire Energy started production of the vertical axis wind turbines in Manistee, Michigan. While 95% of the wind turbine materials are acquired from Michigan, a crucial component, all-important magnets are acquired only from China. At this point of time, Windspire Energy’s vertical wind turbines are not only beautiful, they are also unique to the wine industry of the Northwest.
