Mississippi Solar Provides Cost-Effective Ideas for Farm Solar Tour

Mississippi is assisting build momentum towards making the 2010 ASES (American Solar Energy Society) National Solar Tour one among the most successful grassroot solar events ever held in the history of the solar industry.

The National Solar Tour of this year features in excess of 650 tours, while more communities are continuing to join this movement every week. This solar tour provides opportunities for citizens in touring solar-powered businesses and homes from Alaska to Florida.

Mississippi Solar is providing cost-effective ideas for meeting the demand for solar energy during the ‘Down on the Farm Solar Tour’, which will be held on October 2, 2010 at Carthage, Mississippi. This tour aims at providing economical ways for energy-hungry homes, chicken houses as well as EVs (electric vehicles).

The ‘Down on the Farm Solar Tour’ will feature guided tours that will highlight three unique grid-tie installations, with the first one being a solar carport with 2.4 KW capacity meant for electric vehicles manufactured in Tennessee. The tour will also feature a ground-mount system equipped with battery back-up.
