A-Power Energy Generation Systems Ltd, a supplier of distributed power generation modules in China and a producer of wind turbines, has declared the signing of an agreement with Baishan Long Run Water Conservancy. The engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) agreement worth around USD$279 million needs to be completed in three stages in a period of six years.
The Baishan long run water conservancy project, positioned in Baishan city in Jilin province is projected for completion in three phases with each phase running for a period of 24 months. Phase one requires completion of the crucial Xibeicha 12.8MW water control project in Baishan. During phase two the design and building of a 64 MW hydro power facility is to take place in Laosong Township of Baishan. During the last and final phase the design and building of two 16MW hydro-power facilities over the Baijianghe River in the Jingyu Township of Baishan is planned. A-Power’s fully owned auxiliary company Liaoning Hi-tech (Gao Ke) Energy Group, is chosen as the EPC contractor for the project and will manage the designing, producing and building functions within the power plant, building and repairing of the roads meant for the plant and construct buildings required for administrative offices, hostels and setting up of hotels. The company expects to receive money on the completion of each phase.
Jinxiang Lu, Chairman and CEO of A-Power expressed his excitement about the involvement of Liaoning (Gao Ke) Hi-Tech Energy Group, a subsidiary company of A-Power and the accomplishment of its DG division. He added that the multi phased EPC will improve the sales outlook of the company during the second part of the financial year and after.
