Tigo Energy Teams Up with Suntech to Introduce Smart Panel Technology

Tigo Energy, a patent holding company for its unique solar power augmenting technology, has declared its intention to collaborate with Suntech Power Holdings Co Ltd, a manufacturer of crystalline silicon solar panels, to originate a smart panel technology to use in solar PV set ups.

The collaboration is formed for introducing a technology that can incorporate the patented Maximizer solution of Tigo Energy into Suntech’s crystalline silicon solar panels to augment up to 20% power production efficiency in the panels. The Maximizer solution is formulated to get integrated within the junction boxes of current solar panels. The solution offers a power conversion efficiency of 99.5% without the need for making any special heat dispersion methods or changes in the design of the module or the juke box utilized to remove excess heat. The Maximizer is small in size and light in weight and can be fitted with any type of juke box without damaging its structure. The solution utilizes a minimum number of electronic components and can be reliably utilized with any type of module. The design of the solution makes it compatible to work with all types of inverters from various producers thus enabling the system designers to use it with ease with any integrated smart module. Also the collaboration is aimed at bringing dynamic management features, increased conversion efficiency and improved safety to the solar panels. The Solar PV module developers and users can take advantage of the Maximizer solution for complete monitoring of panel functions, its other performance features and the inbuilt safety characteristics.

Jeff Krisa, Tigo Energy’s Vice President expressed his happiness about the association with Suntech while detailing the recognition received by the Maximizer solution. He expressed optimism about the cost benefits, the integration solution can bring in and the resultant growth in the adoption of the solution. Shijun Cai, Suntech’s Senior Vice President, said that his company is always engaged in researches that can bring in benefits to the clients. While expressing happiness about the association with Tigo Energy he said that the inclusion of an intelligent technology will improve the power production efficiency of the panels and will allow its clients to get most out of their solar projects.
