MicroPlanet, a smart grid energy management solutions providing company, has declared that the Hawaii Army National Guard has chosen its smart grid products to trim down its energy usage and to better the available power quality.
The National Guard will take possession of the multi-phase voltage optimization equipment provided by MicroPlanet for installation and use it at its on-base facilities in Hawaii. By choosing the MicroPlanet’s smart grid product, National Guard joins the other US government agencies like the US Marines and US Coast Guard in Hawaii.
Brett Ironside, MicroPlanet’s CEO and President, said that the remote power grid of Hawaii islands incurs high costs on electrical energy production and has innate problems in the delivery of quality power, which provides a perfect setting to utilize MicroPlanet's smart grid products and take advantage of the benefits it offers. He added that the optimized voltage delivered to the on-base facilities from the smart grid product while improving the power quality will also decrease the power usage, total costs on power spending and green house gas emissions.
Ironside added that his company has spent a considerable amount of time and expenses to sell its products to government agencies that have a directive to use energy efficient methods. He added that now his company has listed its products in the General Services Administration website of the US government as a government approved product and provides it to all the government agencies at a reduced cost.
