Solarfun Finishes Expansion Plans for its Solar Facilities

Solarfun has already completed its expansion plans for its solar facilities. The company has finished its year-end target for 2010 quantifying to 360 MW towards ingot manufacturing capacity, 900 MW in module capacity, 500 MW in cell capacity and 400 MW in wire saw capacity.

Solarfun’s cell capacity has been scheduled for a 550 MW increase during 2011 first quarter through manufacturing process enhancements and also for debottlenecking. For the company’s 2011 operations, capacity increase has been planned for its upstream segments.

The total capital expenditure required for the expansion that includes constructing new buildings as well as the related infrastructure will be $130 million, approximately. These expenditures will be financed fully by the Hanwha Group.
