Solutia has opened a photovoltaic laboratory center towards developing innovative solutions for supporting the rapidly evolving solar energy market.
This modern facility stands as a testament for Solutia’s commitment to solar power generation and follows Solutia’s recent investments in solar energy. This new facility has its location in Springfield’s Indian Orchard part in Massachusetts.
The new facility has been designed for spurring breakthrough innovations, accelerating the timelines for new product development and also providing expert technical service for solar module makers. The center is operated by the photovoltaic development team consisting of PVB and EVA experts in polymer processing, polymer formulation and design, physics as well as chemistry.
To facilitate the acceleration of new products commercialization, solar module manufacturers can now utilize Solutia’s advanced IEC (International Electrotechnical Commission) tests pertaining to new module packages that come prior to the formal testing submissions. The laboratory provides full capabilities in all its photovoltaic encapsulation processes as well as the pilot production of the encapsulants. Solutia’s new laboratory serves as a one-stop shop in the field of photovoltaic solutions development.
