SunPower Corp, a company having its manufacturing facility at Silicon Valley and producer of solar panels, solar cells and solar systems, declared that it has forged a special interest group (SIG) with companies such as SolarBridge Technologies and Tigo Energy, engaged in the manufacture of distributed power control systems (DPCS).
The cooperation is formed to arrive at a procedure among the companies engaged in the solar industry to reduce the prevailing system costs.
The SIG group is formed to introduce and enforce standards among the quick developing DPCS field which comprises DC/DC system optimizers, DC/AC micro-convertors and solar module producers. The group will also set up a general industry platform for sophisticated electronics integration which includes connect and use type of standards for extending mechanical links and infrastructure procedures between the installed solar panels and the spread out control systems. The SIG will also strive to introduce a harmonious execution plan that deals with the prevailing intricacies such as bringing down the cost of solar installation as well as servicing the solar installations at the installed locations.
Jim Pape, President of Sunpower’s commercial and residential business group, said that his company is pleased to lead a group formed for laying down a standard that will assist in reducing the involved system costs while permitting universal usage. He welcomed the partners of the newly formed group and extended his invite to other companies to join the initiative.
