National Semiconductor Corp, a company engaged in the designing and manufacture of analog semiconductors and Green Energy Solar a company offering solar power products and services, has declared the availability of GESOLAR smart panels.
The solar modules will have HUBER+SUHNER NS3 type of junction boxes featuring SolarMagic power optimizer chipset, an award winning and patented technology of National Semiconductor.
Currently the modules that are undergoing TUV Rheinland testing for their emissions adherence and safety installation will become the first such smart panels to complete the testing and certification process. The tests conducted by TUV Rheinland will ensure that the new GESOLAR panel meets the certification requisites for safety standards of IEC 61730 and IEC 61215 and ANSI 1703 as well as emissions and immunity standards of FCC Part 15 (Class A&B) and EN 61000. The SolarMagic power optimizer technology incorporated in the modules will offer maximum energy production even if any of the panels in the array perform below the standard due to disparity in the milieu. The technology maintains and improves the power production of each panel by utilizing the incorporated mix of complex algorithms and analog power supervision circuit technology. The modules under test conditions have proved the capability to recapture up to 75% of the lost energy.
Mike Polacek, Key Market Segments and Business Developments Senior Vice President of National Semiconductor said that both the companies have jointly produced the first ever smart panel to reach the manufacturing stage. He added that the product will help the solar installers to achieve maximum kWh production with reduced cost by utilizing the built in SolarMagic power optimization technology.
