Blount Fine Foods, a hand-made seafood products and artisan soups producing company, has declared that its headquarters expansion currently taking place at Fall River, Mass will comprise a 100 kW solar power system. Alteris Renewables will perform the design, construction and fixing of the system over the roof that is presently under construction.
The solar panel installation while displaying the social responsibility of the company towards renewable energy development will also benefit the company by meeting the electric power requirements of the company and by reducing its spending on power. It also has a high-tech refrigeration system whose control systems are being improved, has speed doors and energy efficient lighting with a white roof all for making the facility energy efficient. More over the company by utilizing the available state incentives and federal tax credits and the low interest bearing financing by Mass Development will be able to take back most of its investments within four or five years time and thereon will use the produced energy free. The system when installed will offset up to 4,844,385 pounds of CO2 emissions in its total life span of 25 years. The energy produced from the panel can be used by 267 average homes in a year. The company is currently having an organic waste recycling facility. It converted nearly 3,650 tons of its organic material waste into fertilizer and quality landscape products last year.
