OPEL Solar’s Wireless Solar Tracker Control Network Helps in Solar Field Management

OPEL Solar Inc declared that in collaboration with its partner FEiNA, a Spain based company, it has developed a novel wireless solar tracker for use in control network functions of utility-scale solar operations. A patent application made for the wireless product is pending with the authorities.

The new control and management system utilizing a wireless tracker can be employed in all types of solar power production fields without the need for laying cables for connecting the network management center. Unlike the previous type of wire connected tracker systems that require a number of on site officials for managing the tasks such as problem attention, maintenance and supervision, the new wireless tracker does not require any onsite official and all the key management functions can be handled remotely and cost-efficiently. The wireless technology is designed for all types of solar panel systems and can be conveniently utilized in panels produced by all manufacturers.

The range of trackers provided by OPEL Solar includes lower end single axis trackers to utility level single and double axis trackers. The solar trackers can increase the power production of solar arrays up to 45%. The Solar tracker control network system from OPEL Solar is CE certified for use in European countries. The tracker systems used in industrial solar farms as well as in large sized rooftop applications can be intercommunicated together to offer simultaneous remote tracking and monitoring potentialities. The trackers can be easily connected to the solar panels without the requirement of special tools or welding. The new wireless tracker network has the potential to offer better monitoring and control facilities to utility level large solar developments in European, North American and North African markets.
