SunRun Stages Rally to Canvass Support for No on Prop 23 Campaign

SunRun, a leading light in Solar Power Solutions, revealed that a demonstration held at SPI (Solar Power International) was a great success reaching several hundreds of voters and collected dollars in thousands in support of the ‘No on Prop 23’ Campaign.

If Proposition 23 gains approval then it would endanger the California green job creation and the environment. SunRun successfully brought in Industry bigwigs such as Verengo and HelioPower together to take part in the demonstration which focussed on the necessity of industry collaboration to decrease human reliance on fossil fuels. SunRun on its part contributed $100,000 to the Sierra Club California No on Prop 23 committee and has also offered to present phone banking events along with Verengo.

When the exhibition began, SunRun and its fellow participant companies decorated their stalls with black net wraps, stuck posters showing ‘No on Prop 23’, outfitted themselves in black dresses, and distributed brochures, ribbons and stickers full of information on Prop 23, to increase the knowledge of the people who were attending the exhibition. The all black show depicts the devastation which Prop 23 would trigger. SunRun also had spare black netting, educational aids, and flags, to inspire other companies to join them for the cause then and there. The fact sheets, guidance and a lot of support were given by the Sierra club.

According to Lynn Jurich, SunRun’s President and the newest Director to the Sierra Club Foundation Board of Directors, to crush or trounce the proposition, a lot of funds, co-operation among the various industry segments such as non-profit and business, and hard work by the public is needed, and that the exhibition was to bring all of these together. A Sierra Club Executive Director, Michael Brune revealed that the club was committed and dedicated to stop prop 23, to ensure that economic growth and the creation of jobs that goes along with it, continues and companies like SunRun are a big helping hand for this cause. He further stated that it was essential that Californian voters should be educated about the negative impact which the prop23 would have on California, and affirmed that SunRun was the ideal envoy to deliver the message.
