BioSolar Offers New Bright-White BioBacksheet

BioSolar launches the Bright-white BioBacksheet to increase PhotoVoltaic (PV) Solar Panel efficiency and reduce the cost responding to the demands of their customers as a replacement for the available translucent design.

According to Dr. David Lee, CEO of BioSolar, PV module manufacturers, favor a bright-white colored backsheet, which enhances cell efficiency, and has high reflectivity properties. He also stated that the company had effectively changed their product formulation without altering their product’s key features. Testing proved that the improved product complies with not only industry standards, but also the customer, and the company’s in-house product requirements.

The existing translucent BioBacksheet is a proven product in terms of durability, both for short periods and long periods, around 3000 hours as compared to the actual requirement of 1000 hours. Dr. Stanley Levy, Chief Technology Officer of BioSolar confirmed that the new enhanced BioBacksheet would be just as resilient and hard-wearing as the original product. The testing process for the new BioBacksheet includes inspection of the product’s physical properties, and also the substance from which it was made. After the conclusion of these tests, the clients would then provide their customized PV modules with the newly fitted BioBacksheet, for either recertification or certification by UL or IEC.

Dr. Lee notes that BioSolar right now has several manufacturers of select PV modules, agreeable to go along with the recertification process at the end of the tests before committing to bulk purchases.
