Good Energies, NIBC Infrastructure Partners Secure Q-Cells Developed Solar PV Plants

Good Energies, an investor in renewable energy and energy efficiency industries, and NIBC Infrastructure Partners, a company with an investment focus in countries such as Benelux, Germany and the UK, have made an accord with Q-Cells SE, a German solar integrating company, to purchase Finsterwalde II and Finsterwalde III solar PV plants situated in Brandenburg, Germany.

The two PV plants along with Finsterwalde I, still owned by Q-Cells have a total power generation capability of 81 MWp the highest capability among all the functioning solar plants in the world.

The two PV plants devised and built by Q-Cells are fully functional, connected to the grid and will receive good feed-in-tariff for a period of 20 years in conformity with the Energy Entry Law (EEG) provisos of Germany. Under the conditions of a long term contract signed with the companies Q-Cell will persist with the maintenance and operations of the two solar plants. The parties involved in the transaction have decided to maintain the sale value as a secret and are looking forward to complete the financial-close of the transaction at the end of the year after meeting a number of other stipulated conditions.

Joost Becker, Director, Good Energies, said that his company will continue to invest in renewable energy businesses at its various stages of implementation and has expressed his excitement in investing in Finsterwalde projects. Darren Kyte, who leads NIBC Infrastructure Partners as its Chief Executive Officer, said that the new acquisition will help the company to improve its expertise in the renewable energy infrastructure development. He added that the new acquisition will augment the solar PV range of his company to 86 MWp in Europe alone.
