Spire Wins IDIQ Contract from Federal Prisons Industries

Spire, a provider of production lines and capital equipment to PV modules manufacturers, announced that it has received an IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity) contract to provide integrator services for solar PV systems, from Federal Prisons Industries.

Spire will be offering the services for UNICOR Federal customers. The five-year IDIQ contract has options for one-year renewal with a total value within $75 million.

The Chairman and CEO of Spire, Roger G. Little said that the company has supplied a solar module production line to UNICOR for its Otisville, New York prison system. The company has also provided another production line to UNICOR, for installation at the Sheridan, Oregon correctional facility. The production lines are established to train persons so that they can enter the growing solar industry and make modules for Federal systems. Little noted that Spire and UNICOR have already entered into a systems teaming deal.
