Tanner Creek Energy Assists Heritage Seedlings to Go Green with Solar Power

Tanner Creek Energy, a general contracting and energy solutions providing company, has assisted Heritage Seedlings, a family owned wholesale nursery in Salem, Oregon, to go green with a 73.3 kW solar PV system installation. The system will allow the nursery to reduce its spending on fossil fuel generated electric power and to lessen its carbon footprint.

Tanner Creek Energy, which installed the solar system for the nursery sat along with the management of the nursery to understand its every day nursery operations, energy usage and energy requirement. Tanner Creek designed the solar system comprising  over 300 SolarWorld manufactured solar panels and completed the grid connected installation. The facility is connected to the grid of Pacific Power, a local utility company. The photovoltaic system is established at Stayton, Oregon, where the nursery has its growing operations which include a greenhouse in an area of 5 acres, field productions covering an area of 140 acres and a cold storage facility located in a 500,000 cubic feet area.

Alan Hickenbottom, President and Found of Tanner Creek, said that the endeavor of Heritage Seedlings in the environmental restoration on their farm is a guidebook for environmental protection groups, government agencies and other growers. He added that the nursery grows a variety of wildflowers and grass seeds and the current addition of solar energy project stands as a good example for their pledge to ecological obligation.
