McLean County Hosts Wind Farms in 37,000 Acres of Land

The countryside McLean-County is in for a lot of changes in the near future. The Lawndale, Yates, Lexington and Chenoa Township located within the county will boast wind power generation plants covering over 37,000 acres of land shortly.

Recently, the McLean County Board has sanctioned its approval for a wind farm construction application made by the new Bright Stalk wind farm. The construction of the wind farm is slated to start from December this year. It is anticipated that the wind farm construction will infuse hundreds of thousands of dollars to the revenue of the McLean County for a number of years.

According to a report, produced by the Renewable Energy Center functioning in the Illinois State University, the wind farm which is anticipated to get completed in three years time will take the present tally of 750 functioning wind turbines which are erected over soybean and corn fields to a staggering 2,772 numbers in a span of five years.
