Oerlikon Solar Plans to Enter Indian Solar Market

Oerlikon Solar, a company owned by Switzerland-based Oerlikon Group and engaged in the production of solar PV module related equipment, is trying to acquire an important share in the emerging Indian solar market. The company believes that the growing focus on green energy markets in India will provide a rewarding business for the companies engaged in renewable energy industry.

The company has introduced its Thinfab product line, a least expensive and an efficient solar power generating film, all over the world last month. The thin film product is said to have the lowest manufacturing cost when compared to its cost per watt capabilities with other solar films.

According to Sumeet Gupta, Corporate Business Development Manager of Oerlikon Solar, the company leads the world markets with the introduction of thinfilm silicon solar PV modules and is aiming to garner a minimum of 20% of the Indian solar market share within the next few years time.
