Vestas Signs Agreement for Europe’s Wind Farm Projects

Vestas, a company specializing in wind turbine products, has signed an agreement order for a total capacity of 100 MW for Europe’s wind turbine projects.

The agreement order includes commissioning, installation as well as delivery of the VestasOnline Business SCADA system. It is expected that the wind turbines will be delivered during the mid-half of 2011.

The wind power plants will be able to generate around 380 GWh annually and will cut down 137,560 tons of annual CO2 emissions when compared to standard EU electricity. Additionally, the yearly production of 380 GWh matches with the annual power consumption of 240,000 people in Europe.

Vestas Mediterranean, a sales business division of the Vestas Group, handles the construction, sales and service operations of  the Mediterranean countries, Caribbean, Latin America, Africa and the Middle East.

Vestas Mediterranean’s President, Juan Araluce, stated that the company is happy to secure the order, which reiterates its commitment and global capabilities to serve its customers. The company primarily focuses on wind technology and offers a wide range of products, Araluce said.
