Spruce Environmental Technologies Installs Solar Power Facility at Its Headquarters

Spruce Environmental Technologies has declared the completion of a solar array installation for the use of its headquarters, located at Ward Hill, Massachusetts. Spruce is engaged in introducing new expertise, methods, services and products for keeping the environment inside the building clean and healthy.

The 78.8 kW solar power production facility was completed by Nexamp, a local clean energy providing company. The power produced by the solar facility can offset around 137,150 pounds carbon dioxide discharges every year, which can be equated to removal of 12 cars from the road or planting 1,595 new seedlings and grow them into trees for 10 years. The installation received $91,250 from Commonwealth Solar Stimulus as rebate, which made the project cost- effective with a reduced payback period.

David Kapturowski, Executive Vice President of Spruce, said that the new installation will meet nearly one third of the power requirement of the building. He added that the grid connected system is designed to deliver the extra power to the grid when not utilized.
