Dow Jones Commences Solar Power Installation at its Facility in New Jersey

Dow Jones and Company, a global news and information providing company has declared the commencing of its solar power installation. The company had earlier announced its plans to install a 4.1 MW solar PV system over its corporate office located in South Brunswick, N.J.

The proposed solar system will be installed over a 230,000 square foot area of its parking facility located in Bernard Kilgore campus. A total number of 13,000 solar PV panels will cover the area to generate over 5 million kWh of electric power every year. The power generated from the facility will be utilized to support the computers and servers located in the facility that are used to manage the global functioning of Dow Jones. The solar power producing facility is anticipated to commence power production during spring of 2011.

The system is expected to power the 200 acre campus of the company located in South Brunswick, N.J and benefit nearly 2,000 staff working at the office with clean solar energy.
