Wind Turbine Project Planned for the University of North Texas Campus

University of North Texas regents, the governing organization of the University of North Texas system, has given approval for engaging either an engineer or architect for the construction of a wind turbine project within the campus, and also for the necessary budgetary needs.

The turbines are to be built in the Mean Green Village, which belongs to the School’s football stadium project. A total of three wind turbines with a height of 125 feet would be erected. These turbines would help in generating electricity for the stadium, which is being constructed and planned to be opened for the next football season.

This project has received a grant of $ 2million from the State Energy Conservation Office. A feasibility evaluation was conducted during this year and the results were found to be positive, according to the UNT administrators. Richard Escalante, the Vice Chancellor, remarked that the project would lead to a lot of savings for the school
