Gemma Renewable Power to Construct Bishop Hill Energy Wind Farm

Argan, a corporate parent company involved in developing and constructing energy plants, has proclaimed that its subsidiary company Gemma Renewable Power has entered into a $51 million EPC agreement with Invenergy Wind North America’s subsidiary company, Bishop Hill Energy.

As per the contract, Gemma would design and construct the 200 MW Bishop Hill Wind Energy Farm in Henry County in Illinois. This farm would comprise a maximum of 134 General Electric wind turbines. Furthermore, Gemma would erect not only towers, blades and the turbines but also design and build roads, electrical collection systems and foundations. The project would be finished by late 2011.

Argan’s CEO and Chairman, Rainer Bosselmann, remarked that the company was delighted to sign the EPC contract for such a crucial alternative energy project. He then stated that he was confident that Gemma’s construction proficiency and project management would make the project a success. He also mentioned that they were happy to gain a second opportunity to work with the team from Invenergy on a wind energy farm.

Argan is also the owner of Vitarich Laboratories and Southern Maryland Cable. Its chief business is to design and construct energy plants via its subsidiary Gemma, and it includes the conventional gas and other alternative energy resources such as solar, ethanol, biodiesel and wind power.
