Arosa Solar Energy, New Jersey- based suppliers and installers of solar thermal and PV systems, has been assisting Bnos Bais Yaakov, a girls’ high school, located on Oberlin Avenue in Lakewood, New Jersey, to go solar and harvest renewable energy.
The solar system installed over the 25,000 square foot school roof top will allow the school to save around $35,000 every year. The school has utilized the government incentives to invest on the system. The renewable energy credits to be earned for generation of every megawatt by the school after the completion of solar installation will allow the school to recover the amount spend on solar installation within a span of three years. The solar initiative of the school is expected to be followed by the other schools located in town. The company has hired the services of Israel Berkowitz, of Berkowatts Electric, to complete the installation and the erection is expected to be completed in three weeks time.
Shimmy Tessler, a spokesman from Arosa Solar, expressed excitement about the installation and said that the installation will reduce the dependency of the school with the power utility company while allowing it to save the money. He added that his company is in talks with other schools in the state for providing solar power.
