Solyndra, Sika to Promote Rooftop Solar Systems

Solyndra, a producer of cylindrical photovoltaic (PV) systems utilized in rooftop applications of industrial and commercial companies, declared that it has contracted a multi-year sales accord with Sika Services, a roofing materials producing company. As per the signed accord, the companies will jointly promote the reflective roofing products of Sika along with the rooftop PV systems produced by Solyndra.

The companies have agreed to focus on countries such as the UK, Slovenia, Germany, Czech, France, Italy and Spain initially, where Sika possess a strong market for its roofing and highly reflective membrane products..

Clemens Jargon, President EMEA and Managing Director of Solyndra, said that Sika has globally earned a status as provider of photovoltaic systems and roofing materials and expressed his happiness to associate with the company in developing a powerful system to encounter the marketing challenges in the commercial rooftop system installations. He clarified that the gained expertise of Sika on rooftops and materials when aggregated with his company’s proficiency  in solar systems will help in maximizing the power production in commercial rooftop applications.

Heinz Meier, Corporate System Engineer Solar in Sika, said that the weightless and non-pass-through type of systems provided by Solyndra will harmonize the highly reflective type of rooftop materials provided by his company. He added that both the companies have got their own reputed standing by offering durable, quality and long-lasting systems, which are guaranteed to produce power over the rooftops for over 20 years.
