Plantation Energy Inks Contract to Supply Biomass Fuel Pellets

Plantation Energy announced that it has entered into a four-year, $70 million deal with the Japan-based trading company, Mitsui, for the supply of biomass fuel pellets. Plantation Energy said that the contract has provided a secure future for its plant in Down Road, which produces and exports wood pellets.

The Chairman of Plantation Energy, Bob Warburton, commented that the deal offers a secondary market to the company’s business in Europe, as well as help the company to advance the plan of production expansion in the Victoria and South Australia facilities. Warburton added that the company is positioned better to match the increasing demand for renewable energy resources in Asia.
