Royal Roads University and VGH to Deploy Solar Panels

British Columbia’s Public Sector Energy Conservation Agreement announced that it has granted $109,000 to the Royal Roads University and $341,750 to the Victoria General Hospital (VGH). The funding will help both the buildings to pay for the deployment of solar panel modules.

Five hospitals, nine colleges, universities, and 24 schools helped in generating $2.8 million that was granted to both the public buildings. Both Royal Roads and VGH hope that the solar panels will help in decreasing the consumption of energy or natural gas.

Ida Chong, MLA of Oak Bay-Gordon Head, stated that public buildings are ideal locations for decreasing the carbon footprints. Deploying the new solar panels would help in highlighting the advantages of solar energy.
