EverGreen Investment and WinwinD have inked a wind power agreement to test and deliver a next-generation wind turbine, which will be erected in Finland’s Raahe City harbor. The wind turbine that will be delivered to EverGreen will be from the WinWinD 3 product series. The properties of the wind turbine will be tested and evaluated before commercial wind energy production.
The rotor diameter of the wind turbine is 109 m. It has a hub height of 90 m and a rated power of 3 MW. The WinWinD 3 turbine will be erected in spring 2011 and the testing will begin in June 2011. EverGreen’s project management services will be provided by GreenTeam Nordic and the infrastructure will be designed by Geobotnia Oy.
EverGreen Investment’s Managing Director, Jari Sillanpää, stated that WinWinD was chosen as a turbine supplier because of its ease of operation and domestic origin. He added that the turbine’s properties, especially in energy production efficiency are highly competitive.
WinWinD is a developer of 3 MW wind turbines in Estonia and Finland. It is also a supplier of over 2.5 MW wind turbines all over the world.
