Renewable Energy Corporation (REC), a Norway-based business and Summit Power Group, a Seattle, WA-based company, have collectively formed NorthLight Power, a new company, to focus on acquiring and developing utility-level solar PV activities in the Western US.
The new company inherits the world renowned solar PV production efficiency of REC as well as Summit Power’s track record of implementing around 7,000 MW worth electric power plants.
The new NorthLight team is fully experienced in all facets of utility scale solar power project development and continues its efforts to implement solar projects in Western US. The offered solar services of the company include identifying and securing sites for solar installation, arranging permissions and PPA agreements, connectivity to the grid, EPC administration and funding for the projects. The new company has specialized in developing utility level projects for both government and private investing companies cost-effectively. The company while arranging for the speedy implementation of the solar project also offers lasting value for its clients and associate companies. The company through its partnership company has recently contracted a 60 MW PPA with Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E). The new plant will incorporate solar PV modules produced by REC and is expected to become operational in 2013.The plant, which is awaiting for approval from California Public Utilities Commission can supplement the day time power needs of around 40,000 households.
