Energia Secures Financing to Provide Additional Wind Power to Ireland

Energia, a clean technology company, announced that it will offer an additional 150 MW of clean energy, as it has secured a financing of EUR 48 million.

The company will deliver the extra renewable energy to the national grid of Ireland. The financing deal was entered with the National Bank of Australia, Bank of Ireland, and Royal Bank of Scotland.

The financing will help the company to offer renewable energy from different wind farm projects by the year 2012. Such new wind farm developments include projects in Tipperary, Cork, Donegal, and Tyrone.

The managing director of Energia, Peter Baillie, said that the additional 150 MW of wind energy, along with the power purchase agreements for 565 MW, will position the company well in the wind energy market. As the demand for clean energy is increasing faster in Ireland, the company has been constantly enhancing their portfolio to match the demand, he noted.
