Bosch Solar has announced the completion of its first onsite erecting of ground mounted solar panels at its 1,400 square meter facility at the Bosch Proving Ground in Michigan. The solar farm will boast crystalline silicon and thin film solar panels produced by Bosch Rexroth Drive and Control Technology and Bosch Solar Energy Group.
The installed solar system though small in size when compared to other mega watt solar farms will generate around 63,400 kWh of electric power to supply electricity to eight US homes all through the year. The small sized system from the company denotes the plan of the company to increase its presence in the small sized solar segment. The new solar erection incorporates a slide-in mounting type of installation formulated by Bosch Rexroth to install thin-film solar modules that come without frames and drastically reduces the time and takes less than half the time taken for installing thin film solar panels on the traditional type of mounting systems.
Peter Marks, Robert Bosch’s chairman, president and CEO, said that the solar panel erection at Flat Rock denotes one of the ways among several others that his company has planned to deploy to expand its growth of renewable energy expertise in the US.
