Dow Electronic Materials Plans to Open Manufacturing Facility in New Eastern China

Dow Electronic Materials, a division of the Dow Chemical Company, has performed the ground breaking ceremony of its new production facility in Eastern China. The function was attended by the government officials from Zhangjiagang city and officials from the company.

The planned production facility is to be located around 98 kilometers from the city of Shanghai in Zhangjiagang city in JiangSu Province. The production facility slated to commence its production in the last part of 2011 will manufacture materials needed for the electronic and industrial finishing, printed circuit board and photovoltaic (PV) products required by the Asian markets.

Helen Zhang, Dow Electronic Material Company’s, global general manager, for Interconnect Technologies, commented that Asia offers development opportunities for solar cell and electronic markets and growing number of clients are opting for improved technologies. He added that contributing to manufacturing facilities in Eastern China has become important to provide the latest products, procedures and services with least time factor to serve the clients. He explained that the new solar production facility of the company is suitably located to produce and provide products required for the solar cell and electronic markets and to offer the required services to the clients from close locations. He said that his company is looking forward to grow in close liaison with the clients.

Peter Sykes, Dow Greater China’s president, said that China provides increased openings for the growth of electric materials industry. He added that the proposed production facility in the country amply depicts the present development policy of the company and its commitment to the growth in the region. He explained that the new factory, which is anticipated to open in a year’s time, will enable the company to grow and offer its products to the Chinese as well as other Asian markets.
