Solar Guide Reveals UK’s Growing Preference for Solar Technology

Solar Guide is a free online resource for both engineers and homeowners, and contains all matters pertaining to solar issues. Solar Guide reveals that UK is adopting solar technology in a big way with plans of constructing a Sun Park in Lincolnshire.

Ecotricity would be building the Sun Park and this project would be the first in a range of similar projects for the construction of green electricity buildings all over the country.

The project’s approval would accelerate UK’s plans of relying more and more on solar technology. The Solar Guide has also disclosed that growing number of local authorities and businesses are presently installing Solar PV Panels on their premises. Nottingham City Council had launched its plans for installation of 160 PV panels on the roof of its headquarters to augment its green credentials.

The Sun Park would generate sufficient electricity to power 280 houses and would also use wind power technology. In the course of time, homeowners and widespread communities would employ solar power. Feed-in-Tariff (FIT) for generating renewable energy has created a lot of interest for solar power among communities, businesses and homeowners, especially the financial benefits of reducing their power bills and at the same time getting money for generation of their own electricity. An added benefit would be the opportunity to make more money by selling the extra electricity to the power grid.

David Holmes, Solar Guide founder perceives that UK is starting to rely more on solar power, but its benefits still needs to be promoted. He feels that homeowners are still unconvinced about solar panel installations. Hence the need for such projects such as Sun Park which are environmentally friendly.
