EverPower, a wind energy project developer in the US, has entered into a contract with REpower for the supply of 25 MM92 wind turbines, each with a 2.05 MW capacity and 80 meters hub height. They are to be installed for projects situated in Ohio, New York, Washington and Pennsylvania.
Their total capacity exceeds 600 MW and construction would be carried out during the next three years for these advanced stage projects. The 25 turbines would be supplied by 2011 and commissioned by the year end. Each wind turbine would produce almost 6.5 million kWh of electricity every year. A long term maintenance and service contract has also been signed between the two companies.
According to REpower’s Managing Director in the US, Steve Dayney, the company was glad to work with the EverPower team and also mentioned that the powerful MM92 wind turbine technology would benefit EverPower. The CEO and President of EverPower, commented that they were happy to partner REpower for the first time. He further noted that REpower was famed for its reliability and quality. They were hoping that they could install many of the wind turbines in New Jersey and New York where advanced development assets were available.
REpower has its headquarters in Denver, Colorado, and has so far sold or installed almost 400 wind turbines in the US with a total capacity of 800 MW in states such as Oregon, Indiana, Michigan, California and Washington.
