SunLink , a commercial level solar photovoltaic solutions providing company, has declared the use of its non-penetrating type of commercial roof mount solar systems for a 5 MW solar power generating facility, owned and controlled by Recurrent Energy.
The solar system installed over the Sunset Reservoir in the City of San Francisco, will have over 23,000 Suntech solar modules. The modules will be erected over a flat and newly overhauled earthquake withstanding rooftop of the reservoir.
The solar plant is formulated and managed under a power purchase agreement between Recurrent Energy and San Francisco Public Utilities Commission (SFPUC). The power generated from the project will be transferred to the power distribution grid of the SFPUC for distribution to its clients such as San Francisco International Airport, General Hospital, Muni light rail and other public schools in the locality. The project is estimated to reduce the level of carbon discharges to the tune of 100,000 metric tons.
Christopher Tilley, SunLink’s CEO, expressed his happiness to take part in a project that will improve set renewable energy goals of the City of San Francisco. He added that his company has provided roof mounting solutions to over 800 sites in North America which includes Sunset Reservoir. He clarified that the engineering expertise owned by the company to enables it to provide no penetrations solutions such as the one offered to the Sunset Reservoir.
