First Solar, Enbridge Receive Solar PV Project of the Year Award

First Solar received recognition from the Canadian Solar Industries Association for formulating and building the 80 MW Sarnia Solar power project. The power project completed in October this year at Sarnia, Ontario is considered to be the largest solar PV project in the world. Enbridge, a Canadian company, has purchased the project and owned it currently.

Canadian Solar Industries Association conferred the ‘Solar PV Project of the Year’ award for the project and the award was jointly accepted by First Solar and Enbridge in December this year. Peter Carrie, the company’s vice president of business development in Canada, was feted for his contribution for the project and received the award in  CanSIA’s conference

Frank De Rosa, Senior vice president of project development for North America in First Solar, said that his company is honored to receive the award for the Sarnia Project. He added that along with Enbridge, they lead the development of utility-level solar energy production in Canada.
