Solar Power Partners and JCM Capital Launch Fund for Photovoltaic Solar Projects

Solar Power Partners and Toronto-based JCM Capital have recently introduced a Fund to develop, finance, own, and operate 200 MW of solar projects in Ontario. The team has initiated a 20 MW to start construction in 2011.

The Fund is targeted at solar projects installed on commercial and industrial buildings across Ontario, and utilizes the state’s Feed-in-Tariff program with solar Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) from the Ontario Power Authority.

Managing director of JCM Capital, Christian Wray, said this partnership should bring the much needed funding and expertise to the Ontario solar market.

Roy Schwartz, Solar Power Partners vice president of project development for Canada, said the team’s project and financial execution experience in the US should help them gain success for their Canadian projects as well. The Fund will also identify projects that will begin construction in 2011.
