German-Designed Solar Systems for Canadian Market

Germany-based Sovello, a fully integrated manufacturer of solar modules, recently announced the launch of its Project Pro Module manufactured in Ontario. Production in the first quarter of 2011 will be limited, with up to 2 megawatts per month scheduled for the rest of the year.

These modules are targeted specifically at the Canadian market, and meet Canadian standards. They will enhance the solar PV market in Ontario where content requirement for solar projects, combined with rising demand for solar systems, has created a shortage of products that meet their needs.

In Ontario, the company is partnering with AS Solar, of Mt. Albert, as the anchor distributor of its Ontario-made modules. The Canadian company is a distributor of complete solar PV systems for residential and commercial markets. Its multiple warehousing and logistics facilities will support supply of in-demand products. It also provides extensive product training and support to its network of dealers and project developers.
