IWC Bulgaria 4, an affiliate of Germany-based Innovative Wind Concepts, announced that it has planned to develop a new wind park near Shumen city, in the northeastern region of Bulgaria.
The wind park is situated near Krasen Dol village, and it will be installed with 21 wind turbines, each having 2 – 3 MW of capacity.
The wind park is expected to provide an energy turnout of more than 100,000 MWh per year. The wind power project is estimated to cost about BGN 150 million, and it is scheduled to start operations in 2013.
The investment has been given a Class-A grading by the Ministry of Economy and Energy. This is the second Class-A grading investment of IWC, after the 140 MW wind park in Lozenetz in the Dobrich region. Innovative Wind Concepts is a joint venture of Siemens Project Ventures and WKN Windkraft Nord.
