Eco-Solids Receives EU Funding for Its Waste to Energy Research

Eco-Solids International, a biomass and waste treatment technology company, has announced its intentions to introduce a research program to improve renewable energy generation from waste food. The program has received €3.5m finance from the European Union (EU) for the research.

The company has recently made an important discovery in the evolution of biogas-increasing pre-treatment Cellruptor technology at its Esholt plant located in Yorkshire.

The proposed research program will study the possibility of generating biogas from interacting with the food waste. It will research in various ways to generate biogas by pre-processing the food wastes and improving the fuel adaptation expertise to improve the energy gains. The research will be guided by the University of Southampton, and will have participation from 13 EU worldwide partners of the company under the auspices of its Valorgas program and seventh framework energy program.

According to Dr Sonia Heaven, University of Southampton’s Principal research fellow, Eco-Solids as a well-informed and helpful partner contributes substantially for the project by providing its technology in maximizing the use of food-waste in the second-generation biofuel technology.
