Solarfun Power Holdings, a China-based producer of solar PV cells and modules, declared that it has entered into a long-term supply accord with Solar Energy Technology Company, an auxiliary of GCL-Poly Energy Holdings, for the additional supply of polysilicon products and wafers.
The contract will require GCL-Poly Energy to supply 2,500 MW worth of wafer and polysilicon products to Solarfun in the ensuing five years from January 2011 to December 2015. The signed accord also has a feature to allow price adjustments in future.
Peter Xie, Solarfun’s President and Chief Executive Officer, said that the signing of the long period supplementary contract with GCL-Poly for the supply of polysilicon and wafer will further solidify the existing collaboration between the two companies. He added that the accord fulfills the key raw materials requirement of the company cost-effectively and allows it to expand to meet the growing product needs of its clients.
Shu Hua, GCL-Poly’s Executive Director and Executive President, expressed his happiness in continuing the collaboration with Solarfun. He added that his company will offer quality products to sustain the growth of Solarfun and anticipates having a win-win accord with Solarfun.
