China Singyes Solar Technologies Holdings, a company that designs and manages Building Integrated Photovoltaic System (BIPV) projects and curtain wall, declared the concluding of its Dong’ao Island smart grid project and starting of power production operations.
It has made the announcement in a function attended by dignitaries from the solar industry and the government at Zhuhai Holiday Resort Hotel.
The smart grid project commenced by the company located at Dong'ao Island has the adeptness to generate power by utilizing wind, solar, and diesel and store it in an energy storage facility. The project is the first of its kind set up over the island and is backed by the Solar Energy Roof Project initiative of the Chinese government. The smart grid system includes power load and a micro power source and is normally utilized in the distributed supply of power mainly from renewable energy sources; while it improves the stability of the power it also reduces the cost of energy generation and improves the intelligence level of the used system.
The smart grid system installed at the island generates adequate power from solar and wind energy sources and reduces the use of diesel in power generation. The installed system will offset around 1,500 tons of carbon dioxide and 45 tons of sulphur dioxide discharges every year. The system will purify around 6,000 tons of water and will stop the generation of 408 tons of dust.
